We have concluded that Rutgers University does have an ample amount of trash cans within the area but as for cigarette receptacles the totals seem to be lacking. Cigarette receptacles are mostly located at exits of buildings but maybe introducing more throughout campus can help reduce cigarette butt trash. Fully stopping cigarette butt trash is impossible but hopefully the addition of new receptacles in high traffic areas can reduce them being left on the ground. An example could be having them next to the trash cans along College Avenue. College Avenue has plenty of trash cans but seems to be lacking cigarette receptacles and for some of the data collectors they noticed a strong correlation to trash and cigarette butts on the ground.
